The Coach Manager Web Pack allows an operators staff and clients to access selected features of Coach Manager over the Internet using a web browser.

The Web Pack, which has been developed using Microsoft ASP.NET, uses specially developed web services to connect to the Microsoft SQL Server database used by Coach Manager. The Web Pack benefits hugely from the fact that SQL Server is a client/server database and, as a result, performance is always excellent.

The first area of functionality is a quotation request facility that can be accessed from a link on an operator's website. Quotation requests, completed online by potential clients, are written directly into the existing Coach Manager Quotation and Pricing System.

Requests are received immediately and an acknowledgement is sent directly back to the client. An alert is raised informing the operator's staff that a new request has been received. A member of staff can then calculate a price using the existing Coach Manager price calculator. As soon as this has been done the system emails the price along with attached terms and conditions back to the client.

The second area of functionality is concerned with day-to-day operations and is centred around a browser based version of the Coach Manager allocations screen. Operators can use this to view their bookings for any given date and optionally change vehicle and driver allocations. There are also facilities for looking up details of clients, drivers and vehicles.

The main benefit of the Web Pack allocations facility is that it enables operators to manage their bookings in response to changing operational circumstances from anywhere where they have access to the Internet. The Web Pack makes use of the existing Coach Manager security system to ensure that access is only granted to authorised members of staff.
